About the Event
About Nick Garnhart:
Nick is a Scientific and Narrative Illustrator from Northern Virginia. Nick uses both digital illustration and traditional painting techniques to educate their audience on ecology, and to share their experience of nature.
As a professional scientific illustrator, Nick creates detailed semi-realistic illustrations of plants, animals, insects, and ecosystems. This work is highly detailed and is intended to be as accurate as possible. Nick’s medium of choice for this work is digital illustration, as this method allows them to capture minute detail, bright colors, and utilize finished illustrations for a variety of resources and products.
When Nick is not illustrating for their job, you may find them in the woods, along a stream, or on the edge of a meadow. If they aren’t watching a beetle pollinate, or a bird sing, they are probably painting. One of Nick’s favorite ways to reconnect with nature and create a meaningful…
