Are you wondering how to get back into art? You absolutely can! It’s never too late to reignite your artistic passion and bring more creativity into your life. This short two session class offers a path to a newly discovered or revitalized art practice. There is value in playing without purpose. it’s often where creativity begins. Students experiment with a variety of media and techniques and experience that art is not always about the outcome, but is a way to come back to yourself when the world feels uncertain or overwhelming. Students will create simple collages using textured and patterned papers, found images and magazines with focus on composition and contrast. Session 2 : Students will add drawing elements on top of collage using colored pencils, charcoal, or pastels and other dry media.Experimentation continues with diluted acrylic washes layered over their collages and additional techniques for layering. Everyone will bring these techniques together in a small finished collage-painting that feels layered and complete. All Materials provided: Magazines, scrap paper, glue sticks, scissors, tape, colored pencils, charcoal, pastels, acrylic paints, brushes, cups for water, rags or paper towels. This low stress workshop is a wonderful way to get into the studio and experiment with materials and new techniques. A great opportunity to meet others who are looking to reconnect to their artistic soul.
